Always enjoy the Splash. Food is always of good quality and freshly prepared. Very friendly staff.
Normally much better food wise. It was very average tonight. A mix of undercooked peppers, inconsistent steak... some okay some not. Several orders not right. Kitchen had just sent standard meals or they had bits missing. Hoped the sweet would save the day but poor too. Grand marnier and choc cheesecake... must have been white choc and that was only due to 3 small white choc drops on top and it had never seen a bottle of grand marnier. .. just plain cheesecake and very average at that. Didn't mean a bad new years eve but should have been so much better. Only got 3* because it's normally much better... shame. Won't be there next year.
Had a really nice carvery meal of roast turkey, Yorkshire pudding. Very tasty and fresh vegetables. Very accomodating to all of us including my elderly parents. The best carvery for miles around.
This is a true country pub with great atmosphere. The food was excellent and very politely served. First class. Loads of parking.
